When Jordan Curran began removing tattoos tied to painful chapters of his past, he experienced an industry that felt transactional when he needed compassion. He envisioned something different: a place where your story is embraced, your experience is respected, and removing a tattoo can become part of reclaiming yourself.
Jordan brought that vision to his lifelong friend, Mathew Trenkler. Together, they founded Rethink with one purpose: to help people move forward, and redefine what tattoo removal can mean
Jordan Curran, Co-Founder & CEO
Jordan Curran is the co-founder and CEO of Rethink Laser Tattoo Removal. A lifelong musician and entrepreneur, Jordan has toured nationally, built multiple brands, and helped create music that has reached more than 500 million streams worldwide. His passion for psychology, relationships, and helping others shapes the way he leads Rethink—with genuine connection at the center. A committed philanthropist, Jordan has also created programs supporting the homeless and survivors of trafficking, including Rethink’s partnership with Soul Survivor Ink.
Mathew Trenkler, Co-Founder & COO
Mathew Trenkler is the Co-founder & COO of Rethink Laser Tattoo Removal, a company he has helped build from the ground up with the goal of creating a more approachable, transparent, and personalized tattoo-removal experience. With a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and being certified as a laser specialist, Mathew brings a combination of technical knowledge and entrepreneurial drive to the industry. Outside of Rethink, Mathew is a proud husband and father of five amazing kids. His own tattoo-removal journey, along with his passion for helping others, continues to shape the vision behind Rethink and the experience clients receive every day.

Every Rethink location operates under the oversight of board-certified physicians. Our medical directors review treatment protocols, oversee our Certified Laser Specialists and Laser Safety Officers, and make sure every session — tattoo removal or cosmetic — meets a clinical standard, not just an aesthetic one.
Dr. Ana Lisa Carr, MD, MBA
Medical Director
Board-certified family medicine physician with additional certifications in addiction and obesity medicine. A St. George’s University graduate, she completed her residency at the University of Virginia and has held a faculty appointment at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Dr. Sunil Kurup, MD
Medical Director
Board-certified in Family Practice and Sports Medicine, with a career built around medical directorship for orthopedic practices, med spas, and weight-loss clinics nationwide.
Dr. Steven Powell, MD
Medical Director
Dermatologist with more than four decades of clinical experience. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic.
